I find it strange that people talk of going on a ‘Diet’…you are constantly on a Diet:
A Diet is the sum of the food consumed by an organism or group.
Whether you eat a take away everyday – you are on a diet.
Whether you eat vegetables everyday – you are on a diet.
Whether you over-consume food – you are on a diet.
What you should be concerned with is the calorific and nutritional value of your diet.
When people talk of losing weight and ‘going on a diet’, it sounds like they’re going to have to do a massive shift, which can be daunting, and this can prevent them from even starting.
Instead, just think “I’m going to change my diet so that it is more nutritional, healthy and good for me”
And remember that it’s all just a numbers game:
Calories consumed – Work Done = Gain/Loss
So, to lose weight we can do two things:
1. Consume less calories
2. Do more
Take control and choose nutrition and exercise for a healthier lifestyle
