A pound of Fat is obviously the same weight as a pound of muscle. But…a pound of Fat has about 3 times more volume than a pound of Muscle.
People aim at improving their diet so that it is more nutritious and healthy for them so that they will lose weight.
But, when we lose fat from our body we lose mass…which is good…but we need to replace this mass with something or the body will have that empty look.
We need to replace the mass with MUSCLE and because muscle has a smaller volume than fat, pound for pound, we may not see a huge dip on those scales.
So if your plan is to lose weight then lets look at adjusting your Goal.
The human body looks better and healthier when it is toned. The way we get toned is to do resistance exercise to build and tone muscles.
And not only does muscle make the body look better and you more stronger, it raises your resting metabolic rate; so you burn more calories. And it protects joints and improves your posture.
So adjust your Goal. Think not of a journey of ‘diet’ and weight loss, but of Healthy Eating, Fat loss and Muscle Build and Tone.
